Misty River Outfitters hunt the boreal forest along the Athabasca River - an area abounding in wildlife. Bears, moose, whitetails, wolves all thrive in this wilderness.
Whitetail Hunts
We offer both early fall Archery and November rut rifle hunting for whitetails. You will stay in my lodge/home during your hunt. We include six days of hunting, guide, meals, pick-up and drop-off from Edmonton International Airport and trophy care. NOT included are your hunting licence, airfare/hotel accommodations, trophy meat processing or gratuities.
We use trailcams to keep on top of deer activity. At Misty River we love to hunt and our enthusiasm for the sport ensures you of a top notch trip!
Early Archery
We do our early fall archery hunts in September. We set up on food sources and bedding areas and catch these big Alberta bucks when they are still easily patterned and not so easily spooked.
$4500.00 USD plus tax and licences.
November Rut
If you want to put a big Canadian whitetail on your wall then this is the place and the time to do it. We hunt the agricultural fringe areas where the bucks have the opportunity both good nutrition and the chance to grow old. The rut is the only time some of these bucks come out into the open.
$5500.00 USD plus tax and licences.
Moose Hunting
The boreal forest in northern Alberta is perfect moose habitat. During the moose rut we spend our days calling to the love sick bulls that roam the area. We hunt near rivers, lakes, cut blocks and on cutlines.
Bowhunting during the rut can cause some serious heart-stopping excitement. Having a thousand pound bull moose crashing through the bush toward you is an amazing thrill never to be forgotten.
Our moose hunts are conducted during the peak of the rut in late September and early October. We access our remote hunting areas by ATV and riverboat (when water levels permit). We stay in spacious wall tent camps with all the comforts of home. The tents are heated by wood stoves and we run generators for lights, charging cameras, etc. Our guides will cook you some of the best meals you've ever had on a hunting trip. All the work will be done for you so all you have to do is HUNT.

A typical moose for our area ranges from 38"-50". The big ones will reach the 50"-60" range. We also incourage our clients to purchase a wolf/coyote or bear licence as we do often have encounters with predators.

Our 1-on-1 rut hunt is $5650.00 USD plus tax and licences.
For two hunters the cost is $5250.00 USD each.
Bear Hunts

Hunting bears in the spring over baits is very productive and popular. Plan on seeing lots of bears up close. We use both ground blinds and tree stands.
When the smaller ones suddenly leave the bait it may mean that the grand daddy is on the way in!

Our area is home to a high percentage of color phase bears. Don't be surprised if wolves or other predators show up at your bait site. Wolf licenses can purchased along with your two bear license. |

We have a 2 bear limit which gives you the opportunity to harvest two quality animals. Our area produces many big bears every year and holds a good percentage of color phase bears. We access our bait sites by ATV, truck or riverboat. We stay in spacious wall tent camps with all the comforts of home.
Bear hunts include six days of hunting, one guide per two hunters, meals, accommodations, pick-up and drop-off from Edmonton International Airport and trophy care. NOT included are your hunting licence, airfare/hotel accommodations or gratuities.
A bear licence can also be added to a fall moose Hunt.
For either baited or spot-and-stalk hunts our hunts are $4250.00 USD plus tax and licences. This allows you to harvest two bears per person.
Wolf and Coyote hunting
